State of health of lithium batteries (SOH): many problems and some solutions

No comments :

The state of health (SOH for "State of Health") of the lithium battery that powers any electrical device is a legitimate concern, because it has the defect of degrading, a little over time, but above all with the use we make of it, and thus lose storage capacity and power. Its knowledge even becomes crucial when it comes to an electric vehicle since its autonomy and its price in the event of resale are at stake.

However, car manufacturers have so far been reluctant to easily provide this information to their customers. It is necessary to deepen the subject, much more complex than it seems, to understand why and to know if we can really know the state of health of a lithium battery, and if so under what conditions.

Low mileage contracts: Renault says "Niet!" to pioneers

No comments :

Niet!

Contrary to what was announced at the begining by the Renault press department (1), contrary to what was suggested since three months by  Mr Deloison, "electric vehicles" DIAC-Batloc department manager (2), contrary to the hopes of the people who works on the Renault Twizy project, contrary to the strong and just hopes of the Twizy owners, contrary to the interests of the brand itself as this decision will make it lose customers, starting by me, contrary to the evidence, Renault will not give its pioneers the benefit of the new contracts "low mileage" (those making less than 5,000 km per year).

Poll Twizy and "low mileage" : all results and some surprises!

No comments :
One of the Renault's arguments to explain why they refuse the new battery rental offers to the existing customers, was the low amount of interested people .
Double error! First, because the reactions were very violent and negative against Renault (see open letter to Mr. Nils Saclier), and secondly because the number of interested owners  is far from being so small ... The proof with this poll !

What is the real range of the Renault-Nissan Twizy and how to preserve its lithium-ion battery?

1 comment :
Quelle autonomie pour la Renault-Nissan Twizy et comment la préserver ?
As for all other vehicles, whether gas, diesel, electric or hybrid, the Twizy's range announced by the manufacturer Renault-Nissan does not correspond to any reality since consumption calculations are carried out in conditions no motorist ever know.
With its 7 kWh lithium-ion battery, Renault-Nissan claims that the Twizy can travel 100 km (62 mi) in standard but what is the reality? And what should we have to do to best preserve the range of an electric car?
